Message from the President

Dear Fellow Members,
I am writing to keep you informed on the latest news from the Governor. It was announced today that Blair County will move into the “Green Phase”. While this is good news that we can open on June 5th, it is not great news. Great news would have been to proceed as if none of this had happened, but we all know that this is not the case. Nothing was more disappointing that to sit at Erik’s last weekend knowing that the parking lot should have been full for Maifest, German music playing, people dancing, and everyone enjoying a schnitzel dinner with their favorite beer. That being said we must move forward with the cards we are dealt. When you come to the club you can rest assured that we have done everything possible to clean and sanitize it, and cleaning and sanitizing will remain a high priority. We are following the State and CDC guidelines for reopening in the green phase. We will be operating at a 50% capacity and the seating will reflect this. Tables have been spaced so that there is six (6) feet around each one including the chairs. Tables must remain six (6) feet apart and no more that four (4) persons per table – NO EXCEPTIONS. Bar seating is very limited and there will be no standing at the bar in order to promote social distancing. You will be permitted to get your drinks at the service area and wait in line maintaining the social distance of six (6) feet. Hand sanitizing stations have been set up for your use. We ask everyone to use the sanitizer whenever they come into the club. I ask everyone to be patient. The bar staff will be helping sanitize areas that have been used or touched multiple times a shift and will have to take time out for hand washing breaks. Masks will be required unless you have a medical condition. They may be removed once you are at your table, and put back on when you move about the club. The same applies to the outside with the exception there is no bar seating. As I said before, I wish we could go back to normal (not the “new normal”). Please be patient. These are not our rules, they are the Governor’s. I look forward to seeing all of you, to share a beer, some laughs, and Gemütlichkeit. Thanks for taking the time to read through this.

Prosit and see you on the 5th,
Joe Oberneder, President

P.S. We will be having a Chicken BBQ / Zigeuner Dinner on Saturday, June 20 from 4:00 – 6:30. Please watch Facebook and our website for the details in the next day or two.
I also want to thank everyone who purchased a Chicken dinner for Mother’s Day and those who have sent and continue to send in their Anniversary tickets.
